 I love data! Data drives business, provides the fuel that makes an idea go from “interesting” to “essential.” My current job is as a data mining expert consultant. That means I work wherever the work is, as long as it’s legal. Clients often ask me what I consider the most important skill for a data miner. My answer is easy: It’s the ability to think creatively! Data can be a very limited resource…but…if you can think outside the box, you will find ways to make it work for you.






Everybody talks about "Data Mining". What is it about and how it affect your business?



It is the process of examining large amounts of data to discover patterns and make predictions. The goal is to find useful information hidden in the data. Data mining is often used when there is too much data for a person to examine manually. An example would be all the books that have been written about various topics. And that's what I do. I examine this body of work and discover interesting facts that were not apparent when the data was examined one book at a time.



What you will get?

These are statistical techniques that are used to discover the underlying factors that cause something to happen. For example, you might use data mining to discover the factors that are most important in predicting whether a person will buy a certain product or service. Once this is known, you can use other techniques to determine how to best position your ads or offers to appeal to those factors.

What customers want and how they will react to different products or services.
Which marketing campaigns are the most effective.
The best time and day to mail your sales pitches.
Best days of the week to open your mail box.
The best mailing lists to use.
Hot-spots and blind spots in your sales efforts.
